How to enter

Entry Process

To enter, simply head to the entry form on Submittable and submit your entry.
We anticipate it should take approximately 2 hours to draft your submission, but please don’t leave it too late!

Before submitting your entry, please ensure that:

  • You have read and understood the prize’s Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
  • Your organisation meets the eligibility requirements to enter.
  • Your organisation is happy to commit to the requirements of the challenge if selected as a finalist.

Entries must be submitted by 12 noon on Wednesday, 16th December 2026.

Support to enter

We encourage all interested entrants to attend one or more of a range of events over the entry period in support of your submission. Please head to our News and Events page to find out about events and sign up when they are announced.

Events will include:

  • Challenge Webinars: informational webinars to share key details about the challenge and provide an opportunity for Q&A. Once completed, a recording will also be available online.
  • Entry surgery sessions: Sign up for a 15-minute surgery session to discuss the challenge and ask any clarifying questions you have about the challenge and entry process.
  • Roadshow events: We will be running a series of workshops across the UK. Please register your interest in attending an event to explore non-sewered sanitation issues and reinvented toilet technologies together with other organisations in and around your region.

If you have any questions after reading the website, including the FAQs, please email us at flushforward@challenges.org.

If useful, you can download all the information about the challenge as a Markdown (text) file:

Using AI in drafting your entry

You are welcome to use generative AI tools to help you to draft your entry if you feel it would be helpful; however, please ensure it is based on human thought.

Our guidance to assessors and judges is to focus on the substance of the entry – not your writing style, spelling or grammar. Our experience with entrants using AI in drafting often means that their entry comes across as more generic and harder to follow than entries drafted by humans. If you’re tempted to pop some bullet points into an AI-powered tool to write them up into a paragraph, we invite you instead to just pop the bullet points into the entry form.

You will be asked to declare if you used AI for your submission as part of the entry form – please note this is purely for informational purposes and will not affect your scoring.
